Matthew Slonim is Chief Operating Officer of The Besen Group, where he is responsible for overseeing all investment research and analysis for several operating companies under the corporate umbrella, including Besen & Associates and NYC Management.

Mr. Slonim joined Besen & Associates in March 2003 as an Investment Analyst and has since been charged with various operational responsibilities and providing critical support on all new business development fronts. Under his supervision, the company’s team of investment analysts provides valuation and pricing recommendations, comparable market studies, cash flow analyses, internal rate of return projections, operating statements, and development scenarios. In addition, Matthew has also successfully brokered the sale of several multifamily assets in prime Manhattan locations.

Early on in his career, Mr. Slonim spent three years as a Research Analyst at National Economic Research Associates, a division of Mercer Consulting focusing on asset and equity valuation in the Securities Litigation Group. He later spent two years working as an Associate at SG Cowen, in their Investment Banking Division focusing on IPOs and private placements. Prior to working at SG Cowen, Mr. Slonim was in the Corporate Banking Division of The Bank of New York.

Mr. Slonim received his BA in Economics from Washington University, and received his MBA from The Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University.
